Quick Games with no Equipment

LAND and WATER
This is a game which calls for careful listening but is really fun to play.
When the Leader calls out the word "land" the children jump forward, when the Leader calls the word "water" the children jump backward.
Then the word "land" can be suddenly changed into "bank". The actions of the children must be the same as after the word "land" i.e jump forward.
The word "water" may be changed into "sea", "lake", "river", etc.
The child who gets it wrong is out.
Winner is last one in

 

Opposites
Leaders should have a list of actions for the children to do
e.g. walk, run, sit down, hop on left foot, wave your right hand, quiet, noisy, stand still, jump up and down, scream, dance etc.
The object of the game is to do the exact opposite of what the Leader is saying.
Gradually remove all those who get it wrong,
Winner is last one in

 

Traffic Lights
Green means run, amber means walk and red means stop.
The Leader chooses an activity eg hopping, jumping, walking, dancing etc.
The Children then move around the room in a clockwise direction doing the activity.
The Leader calls out the 3 colours at random and children adjust speed accordingly.
If the Leaders call ‘change’, the children should change direction.
The Leader may also change the activity at anytime.
Gradually remove all those who get it wrong,
Winner is last one in
